  1. Why does Sapo speak so highly of Bodega?

In the story Sapo is always filling up Chinos head about how great Bodega is. The reason he does this is because while Sapo was struggling Bodega was the one that helped him. Sapo also seems to want to get his name up their in the neighborhood. In the story it says, "Look, bro, all i k now is when no one would gimme a job, Bodega did... But i dont want to be some manager of a few crack houses. I wanna be part of history." As you can see, Sapo went through tough times in his life. He didn't have the support of anyone during these times. He says that Bodega was the only one that helped him and gave him a job to make money. You can also see that Sapo doesn't just want to be one of the rest of Bodegas workers. He wants to be someone important and get his name populated. He wants to be the type of person that everyone remembers even after he's gone. As long as Sapo is riding with Bodega he is sure of having a job and being someone.

  2. Why did chino feel bad about sapo?

Chino and sapo have been friends for a very long time so having even a small argument will make them think. " When sapo and I were in the sixth grade we would play hooky by going there to play hide and seek hang out" This demonstrates how chino had a flashback and started to think about the god times he had with his friend. Even though things may seem bad between chino and sapo there friendship has a strong meaning to them and when something goes wrong or one of tem feels bad the other feels it as well. Because that's a real friendship.

    1. PROOFREAD! You have several errors in spelling/capitalization/punctuation that caused you to lose points. Your response would be greatly improved if you gave more CONTEXT about Chino and Sapo's relationship. 7/10

  3. Why is sapo so mad at chino?

Sapo and chino go way back. Sapo felt hurt that chino didn't wan to work with Nazario after he recommended him. "Yeah, thass why. Bodega's been looking for a guy to work with Nazario for some time. And I thought of you" (pg.40) This quote shows sapo was thinking about chino when a opportunity came u. Sapo felt betrayed that chino didn't accept the opportunity with Nazario.

  5. Why is it that chino does not plan on going with bodegas plan at first?

In the book Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez, Chino is faced with the decision on whether or not to go with willys plan. Chino does not want to go with willys plan because he feels like he is to busy because of work and school. On page 38, it says, "come on, bro. Sapo told me you were busy and shit, with your job at the A&P and your high school." It also says, "naw i cant...I cant. I hope this works out for you, but i cant." Chino is the very smart kid who is really well educated and is planning on moving in with his wife to another apartment. This quote shows how chino is having some suspension on bodegas plan. It also shows how Chino is making up excuses to not get in to bodegas problems. It also says on page 39,"But i had blanca and the baby to think about and i wasnt about to throw that away." Blanca is chinos wife, which is against chino does with sapo and other people. This quote shows how Chino is having thoughts on his family and how it could affect them in their lives in the future.

    1. Check for errors in capitalization (all names and proper nouns, the first word in a quote etc). Give a little more context about what Willy's plan is and what Chino's role would be. 8.5/10

  6. Why does Negra stab Victor?

In the book Bodega Dreams by Ernesto Quinonez, Negra stabbed Victor because she feels like he is cheating on her. She discovered movie tickets in his back pockets in which he took another girl. This caused her to get emotionally angry and stab him. On page 57 it says,"I told him this was in his shirt pocket. Thass right, you didnt see this with Mike or Nando or with me because this is a movie you took another girl to see!" Negra and Victor are in a serious relationship in which they are married. She let her emotions get to her and so she stabbed him. This quote shows how Negra stabbed Victor because she really loves him and she feels like he dont love her. The emotions Victor is going through is pain because he was just stabbed by his wife.
